Valuation
for insurance
Incase of valuables that need to be insured (e.g. art, antiques, jewellery, watches, etc.), a written appraisal report is necessary. According to legal provision (Article 7:960 of the Dutch Civil Code), a valuation report drawn up by a certified Registered Appraiser ("fixed preliminary valuation by experts") is binding for insurance companies, and therefore also the evaluations from such a report. In the event of loss of goods, the amount of compensation is determined by the values of the report instead of afterwards by an appraiser from the insurance company.
In a valuation report, all objects are described in detail, valued on the basis of replacement value and illustrated with a photo. A bound valuation report will be provided in duplicate by post and a scanned copy as a PDF by email. A valuation report has a legal validity of 36 months. After that period You will be contacted to discuss an extension.
Valuation for inheritance
tax and mutual division
In case of a donation, gift or an inheritance, it may be necessary to determine the value of the assets in a valuation report for the inheritance tax return. In the event of death or divorce, this may be necessary for mutual division.
For both purposes, your art, antiques, valuables and household goods are valued on the basis of their economic value.
In a report, all objects are described in detail, valued and provided with a photo. You will receive a bound valuation report in duplicate by post and a scanned copy as a PDF by email.
Damage assessment
and counter expertise
On behalf of insurers, survey agencies, insurance intermediaries or insured parties, we provide valuations for the purpose of claim settlement, after damage due to burglary, water, fire and/or other calamities. A written report indicates the replacement value and any depreciation after restoration. We can also advise on restoration workshops.
In cases of disagreement between an insurance company and an insured person, an impartial counter-expertise provides valuable support and the interests of the insured person are optimally represented.
Valuation
before auction
If you are considering auctioning part of Your art or antique collection, or even the entire collection, we will be happy to discuss the options. We can advise on and mediate with suitable auction houses and arrange the transport of goods and arrange the sale or repurposing of goods that are not suitable for auction.
